The Edward John

The Edward John is one of the oldest head boats remaining in operating on the Great Lakes! Built in Erie PA at the shipyard now know as Don Jon in 1954. We are proud to keep the tradition going for many more generations!

Early on

In the beginning ….. the Edward John ran twice a day, 7 days a week anchor with full boat and everyone limiting out on perch within an hour.

Current

Summer of 2022 we did a huge refit on the Edward John at the cost of about 35,000.

Over the years the steel hull wears down and in order to meet coast guard and insurance approval and inspections it was necessary to have plates welded on the bottom of the hull. Along with sandblasting the entire boat, top to bottom! Add in new windows, and all new top of the line paint, new graphics and here we are in the summer of 2023.
